Choosing the right joints & links
Sway bar links and ball joints are wear parts. A worn sway bar link makes a knocking noise over uneven roads, while a worn ball joint shows up as play in the wheel and uneven tyre wear, and should be fixed promptly.
Links vary in length and in the fitting at each end, so match the part to the position on your car. Sway bar links are usually replaced in pairs so both sides behave the same.
