Choosing the right engine mounts
Worn engine mounts let the engine move more than it should, which shows up as vibration at idle, a clunk when changing between drive and reverse, or a jolt when accelerating. Each mount has a position, commonly front, rear, left, right or torque, and they are not interchangeable.
Mounts often differ between automatic and manual versions of the same model, so check the transmission as well as the engine. Support the engine safely while a mount is out.
