Buying guide

Choosing the right condensers

The condenser sits in front of the radiator and releases heat from the air conditioning system. Because it is at the very front of the car, it is often holed by stones or damaged in a front impact, and a leaking condenser is a common reason for an air conditioner that stops blowing cold.

In Australia, the refrigerant has to be recovered and the system re-gassed by a licensed air conditioning technician, so fitting a condenser is a workshop job. Many condensers include a receiver drier, and where yours does not, it is usually replaced at the same time.

Check these before you order

  • Engine and build range
  • Pipe fitting positions against your old condenser
  • Receiver drier included or separate
  • Refrigerant type for your model
  • Fitting and re-gas by a licensed technician

If your build date sits near the start or end of a listed range, send us your VIN through the contact page and we will confirm the fit before you buy.
