Buying guide

Choosing the right front lower control arms

The lower control arm links the front wheel hub to the body and carries the bushes and usually the lower ball joint. Worn bushes show up as clunks over bumps, vague steering or uneven tyre wear, and a kerb strike can bend an arm outright.

Many replacement arms come with new bushes and a ball joint already fitted, which saves pressing them in. Check the ball joint type and the bush style against your car, and have a wheel alignment done after fitting.

Check these before you order

  • Left or right hand side
  • Ball joint and bushes included or not
  • Two wheel drive or four wheel drive where they differ
  • Series and build range
  • Wheel alignment after fitting

If your build date sits near the start or end of a listed range, send us your VIN through the contact page and we will confirm the fit before you buy.

Left hand is the passenger side and right hand is the driver’s side on Australian-delivered vehicles, viewed from the driver’s seat.
